Telecommunications Act of 1996
Purpose
To ensure that all eligible schools and libraries in the U.S. have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services.
Requirements
All public and private schools and public libraries qualify based on their level of economic disadvantage and their location - rural or urban.
Funds can be applied to internal connections and infrastructure.
